Getting Started

There isn't one. Static QR codes are free because they cost us nothing to generate — your phone reads the URL straight from the dots, our server is never involved. We make money from the Smart QR subscription, which is a genuinely better product (editable + trackable). If you only need a static QR, you should use the free version and never pay us a cent.

Yes. Open the designer, build your code, click download. We don't ask for anything. The file is yours.

Absolutely. Free and paid QR codes can be used on packaging, menus, business cards, signage, marketing materials — anywhere. No attribution required.

Minimum 2cm × 2cm (about 0.8 inches). We recommend 3cm × 3cm or larger for reliable scanning. Print at 300 DPI or higher, and leave a white border (quiet zone) around the QR code.

Smart QR & Pricing

A Smart QR encodes a redirect URL (scanworthy.com/t/your-code) instead of your destination directly. This means you can change where the QR points at any time — without reprinting. You also get scan tracking: every time someone scans, we log the device, location, and time.

Because annual billing is how most QR platforms trap customers — by the time they realize they're locked in, they're 6 months into a contract they can't easily cancel. Monthly billing means you can leave any time. We have to earn your $9 every month.

Log in to your dashboard, find your QR code, and click the destination URL. It becomes editable — type the new URL, press Enter, and the change is instant. The printed QR code stays the same; only the redirect destination updates.

Cancellation & Data

They keep working. The redirect from scanworthy.com/t/your-code → your destination keeps functioning. You lose the ability to edit the destination or see scan data, but the QR code itself works forever. If you ever come back and resubscribe ($9/mo), all your codes and history are exactly where you left them.

Welcome back. Resubscribe at $9/month and all your existing codes, destinations, and history pick up exactly where you left them.

Yes. Go to your dashboard → Account & Billing → click 'Download all my QR data (JSON)'. This exports every QR code, destination URL, and scan record associated with your account.

Yes. Go to Account & Billing → Delete my account. This cancels your subscription, removes your personal data, and soft-deletes your account. Your QR codes will keep redirecting forever — we never break printed materials.

Scanning & Reliability

Yes — we automatically increase error correction when you add a logo, so the QR can tolerate the covered area. We also limit logo size to prevent it from being too large to scan. If your design won't scan reliably, we'll warn you before download.

Yes, with a Smart QR subscription ($9/mo). You'll see every scan in real time — when it happened, what device was used, and what country the scan came from. View it all from your dashboard.

The most common causes: low contrast between dots and background, logo too large, or the QR is printed too small. We check for these issues before download and warn you. If you're having trouble, try increasing color contrast, reducing the logo size, or printing at a larger size.

We use basic analytics to see what features people use (which presets are popular, etc.) but we don't capture or store anything that identifies you. No emails, no accounts, no tracking pixels. Free users are anonymous to us.

Security & Privacy

Yes. We use Stripe for payments (we never see your card number), bcrypt for password hashing, and encrypted connections for everything. Your scan data is stored in Supabase with row-level security. We never sell or share your data.

No. When we log scans, we hash the IP address with SHA-256 before storing. We never store raw IP addresses. This lets us count unique scanners without identifying them.

Yes. Go to your dashboard → Account & Billing. You can update both from there.
